Responding to the industrial sprawl of the West Side Flats, this urban design proposal intertwines riverfront ecologies with social infrastructure to create a regenerative community hub. The design uses a “drop of water” concept to shape a looped circulatory system, featuring rain gardens and a floodable plaza that manage water flow while inviting public interaction. Ultimately, the project functions as both habitat and destination, restoring the site’s vibrancy and establishing a permeable, biophilic connection to the Mississippi.
